Departmental Organization

The School was renamed “Chang Jung University” with the approval of the Ministry of Education, effective October 1, 2002. The school had four colleges (Management, Health Science, Humanities and Social Science, and Information Technology and Engineering), a total of 26 bachelor programs, 12 master programs and 1 doctoral program as of 2004. The basic organizational framework of the university is in place. In addition to further developing our existing departments and adding new departments and classes in the future, the school has plans to
found a fifth college. The school will strengthen teaching, research and administrative systems to foster the development of educational breadth and excellence.

In establishing the campus culture, this stage we will continue with the “Service Education” system started in 1997 and the “Campus and Dorm Culture” in 1998. We will require the courses of language and general education course to all students, to improve the students' standard. Students can then develop the attitude of “Devotee, Diligence, Honor and Service.”

In establishing cross-college research center, the school will encourage departments to set up their own research centers and gradually to establish cross-college research centers. Combining the teaching and research resources of all colleges, and promoting collaborations among industries, government and academia, the school can work with the government's policy to build up Taiwan as the Asia-Pacific Regional Operations Center and to balance regional economic development policy between north and south. By fully utilizing the professional expertise of the three main colleges, we can cultivate talents with foresight. Also by combining the human resources and facilities of the school, we can all work to accelerate nation's overall development plan and raise the competitiveness. At the same time, we can facilitate collaboration between our school and other domestic or foreign universities within the country in research and development. Through exchanges and international academic conferences, we can provide excellent opportunities for our students and staff to broaden their academic research fields.
