Introduction
College of
Information and Engineering was established on August 1, 2005, currently
consisting of three departments with a graduate institute：Department of Information Management founded in 1993,
Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering founded in 2005,
Department of Engineering and Management of Advanced Technology founded in
2002, and the Graduate Institute of Information Management founded in
2003.  Each department is successful in
both research and teaching. The College covers the fields of hardware
and software in the information industry and relevant management and
applications. With a strong faculty as a whole and
elaborate programs, we should be able to cultivate even more
specialists in the high-tech realm.

Purpose
In
response to the rapid changes and needs of the society today, Tainan Science-Based Industrial Park, Tainan Technology-Based Industrial Park, and Luchu Science-Based Industrial Park have now been set
up in southern Taiwan. Some renowned high-tech corporations in
R&D have been moving into these areas; thus, high-tech R&D
workforces are extremely demanded, especially in the fields of information
engineering and electrical engineering. Hence, the College has
consolidated information  related resources in the university
and built up an environment that combines teaching and research.
Through interdisciplinary programs students can plan to choose different
curricula for preparing their future career in information applications,
information software on information hardware to satisfy the society’s
needs.
