The International Program for Sustainable Development (IPSD of Chang Jung Christian University (CJCU) and Vena Energy Taiwan on December 23 jointly held the second workshop for community participation under “Tainan Yenshui Local Participation and Industry-Academia Cooperation Program.” Incorporating into the course of “Community Planning,” Professor Huang Chao-Hsin and Liu Bi-Chu from IPSD took international students in junior year to Tienliao Community in Yehshui District where students introduce their understanding and vision of community development to the local elderly. Students presented their learning of community building and spatial design in a practical way and helped Vena Energy Taiwan to build good connections with the community. According to Hung Ching-Yi, Dean of the IPSD, Yenshui has abundant cultural resources and Tienliao Community is an ideal place to develop the emerging solar industry. At the same time, students learned to build community with culture, technology, and environmental education.
